TRIESTE - Ninety works, seventy paintings and twenty drawings, watercolors and inks: this shows the body of Giorgio de Chirico. A majestic silence, set up, 3 December 2010-27 February 2011, at the stables of the Miramare Castle in Trieste, which traces the ' artistic overview of one of the absolute masters of the twentieth century.
The exhibition starts from the second decade of the twentieth century, with masterpieces such as The Great Tour 1915, Enigma departure 1914, Temple of Apollo at Delphi of 1909-1910, or Vase Chrysanthemums 1912. Just what the square is one of the key issues of the Met. De Chirico this free space, which is traditionally a meeting place, and makes it empty, almost unrecognizable, where the past and present intertwine, creating a time suspended, to become a stage populated by Muse, Mannequins, Statues, Oracles, Arianne.

De Chirico has expanded its metaphysical exploration in the twenties and thirties, completely changing the classic iconography of the streets, reaching happy inventions such as archaeologists, the Gladiators , the furniture in the valley or the mysterious baths. The exhibition will give account of this evolution through a nucleus works of this period as a female figure 1922, Interior and metaphysical Archaeologists 1925, furniture in the valley of 1927, as well as riding on the beach 1928, Gladiators (La Lutte) , Horses and Dioscuri Life and silent 1929, Horses on the beach 1930, Hector and Andromache of 1935 and will close with some very significant works of the '40s and '50s.
The exhibition devoted to Giorgio de Chirico is part of the project From Met Art that, until February 27, 2011, will see the stables of the Castle of Miramare, host the staff Fabio Mauri, A dreamer of reason presenting five large installations, as well as paintings and drawings of the fifties, the artist made Roman, reworking their traumatic experiences of teens and war, is to realize the history in making things, like a great still image, a dense drama and rare beauty, the human and the exhibition mirrors enigma. Artists around De Chirico, set up inside the castle, with works by 15 contemporary artists, like Adam, Ceron, Chia, De Dominicis, NATHAM, Schifano and others who have made more or less explicit homage to de Chirico and refer his poetry.
The initiative is promoted by Galatea Cultural Arts Association, organized by Tadino Contemporary Art, in collaboration with the Soprintendenza of Friuli Venezia Giulia and is curated by Silvia and Roberto Pegoraro Alberton.
